2. What type of events do Elegant Marquees provide services for?
Elegant Marquees offer hire and planning services for corporate events, weddings, receptions and parties. Our comprehensive service makes it easy for you to arrange every aspect of your event.
3. What are in-house marquees?
In house marquees are normally required for a large indoor area such as a conference hall or exhibition. This creates an isolated area within which a particular part of the event can take place.
4. What types of marquees do you offer?
Our marquees are split into two categories.
Clear span marquees are ideal for maximising available space due to their free standing design. They also have no need for a central pole which makes the interior floor space as versatile as possible.
Shaped marquees are hexagonal or octagonal and make it possible to set up a marquee on uneven ground where a clear span marquee could not be used. They can also form an extended section of a larger marquee, ideal for reception areas, cloak rooms or catering spaces.
5. What if I cannot arrange electricity at the venue?
In the event that you are unable to arrange a source of power for your marquee we can arrange a generator and heating equipment where necessary.

8. What surfaces can marquees be set up on?
Events normally take place on areas covered with grass, gravel, concrete or tarmac. If you are unsure whether your venue is suitable, contact us for a definitive answer.
9. What other services do you offer?
In addition to marquee hire we can also arrange, tables, seating, stages, dance floors, lighting, audio/visual equipment, catering, limo and executive transport and childcare play areas.
10. Are Elegant Marquees suitable for corporate events?
We offer services specifically tailored to corporate events. We can simply provide a marquee for your event or take on other aspects of event organisation.
11. Can marquees be connected to a building?
Yes, it is possible to provide a walkway between a building and the marquee.
12. Will the marquee cause any damage to the ground beneath?
Generally marquees cause no permanent damage to the ground beneath. When they are erected on soft grassy areas there may be some discolouration of the grass, which quickly returns to normal once the marquee is removed and well trodden areas such as entrances may be slightly damaged without a hard covering.
13. When should I mow the lawn?
When marquees are erected on grassy areas we recommend the grass is mown a couple of days before the marquee arrives and trimmings are to be removed.
14. What are the advantages of hiring a marquee?
Marquees give you more freedom to host your event at a wider range of venues. Marquees can be expanded to accomodate larger numbers of guests. There are no time or noise restrictions at your own property as opposed to restrictions you will encounter at hotels.
15. What are the advantages of marquees as party venues?
Aside from the general advantages, you are able to completely theme the interior of your marquee for your party and the tall central points allow large points of interest to be placed inside. This gives your party a touch of class and consistent theme.
